Experience a side of East Crete that feels untouched, refreshing, and wonderfully alive. Our journey begins with a scenic drive through coastal views and traditional villages before reaching the first stop—the monumental Olive Tree of Kavousi, one of the oldest in the world (≈3250 years old).
We then continue to the entrance of the famous Richtis Gorge, where the adventure unfolds with a gentle hike beneath the cool shade of towering trees, wooden bridges, and small springs that bring the gorge to life. The sounds of nature guide us deeper into a landscape that seems far removed from the busy world outside.
As we follow the trail, the highlight appears—the impressive Richtis Waterfall. Cascading from nearly 20 meters, it creates a natural pool where you can take a revitalizing swim or simply enjoy the calm beauty of the surroundings. This spot is perfect for capturing moments that truly reflect the wild charm of Crete.
We continue our walk toward the coastal exit of the gorge, where the path gradually opens to the sea. Here, time slows down. You can rest, breathe in the salty breeze, and enjoy a traditional meal by the water if you wish, taking in the simplicity and authenticity of local Cretan life.
After our time by the water, we head to a traditional Cretan restaurant to enjoy a meal prepared with local ingredients and slow-cooked in a wood oven—the kind of authentic flavors you only find in small mountain villages. Good food, local wine, and warm hospitality complete this perfect break.
The day concludes with a short photo stop at Voulisma Beach, one of the island’s most celebrated shores, known for its turquoise waters and soft golden sand.
This tour blends nature, adventure, and relaxation in a way that reveals the genuine beauty of Eastern Crete. From cool gorge pathways and refreshing waterfall swims to sunlit beaches and coastal serenity, it’s a day filled with moments you’ll carry long after your holiday ends.
